Quanta and VisualOn collaborate to bring high quality multimedia support to the Quanta family of 3G PDA phones.

Quanta Computer Inc. today announced that their new 3G family of PDA phones will come bundled with VisualOn Inc.’s “Media Player Plus” software. The combined solution will allow Quanta to help their ODM customers provide end users with a device to play back audio and video content without a significant reduction in battery life, enabling a supreme quality multimedia experience on a 3G PDA phone.  The new Quanta phones are immediately available.
VisualOn’s Media Player Plus software application supports streaming audio and video, and plays most popular mobile video formats, including H.264.  VisualOn’s multimedia software transforms the 3G PDA phones into a high-quality portable media player, ideal for enjoying full action movies, TV shows, music videos, sports and news highlights on the go.
VisualOn’s unique patent-pending technology is targeted for mobile devices and is highly optimized for performance and power efficiency.  It enables Quanta’s 3G PDA phone to play back full screen video and audio content at 30 frames per second for over five hours.  Other major mobile video devices, by comparison, have a battery life of about three hours. Quanta’s PDA phone enables their ODM customers to provide a perfect device upon which end users can enjoy viewing a full length movie on a long flight, with plenty of battery power left to make phone calls once they reach their final destination.
