Dr. C.Y. Bill Lin is a co-founder of VisualOn, and an expert in video/audio codec optimization and consumer multimedia software. He has extensive experience in building and managing development teams in both US and China. Prior to co-founding VisualOn, he led MedioStream’s entire US development team and was responsible for the MPEG and Digital Video codec development. His expertise in software and algorithm optimization has made a significant contribution to enhance the codec performance. Dr. Lin also has extensive working experience in the development of optimization algorithms including work with Tera Systems, Southern Company, Auburn University and Georgia Institute of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. degree from School of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, a master's degree from National Cheng Kung University, and a bachelor's degree from National Taiwan University.

Sean Torsney is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for VisualOn. Mr. Torsney has over 21 years of diverse business experience including software sales, operations, applications, and engineering. Mr. Torsney brings a proven track record of building a successful team from the ground up and driving a product to a strong market share presence despite the presence of strong entrenched competition. Prior to joining VisualOn from 1999 to 2006 Mr. Torsney was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Verplex Systems, an EDA startup company that was acquired by Cadence Design Systems in 2003. At Verplex Systems Mr. Torsney was responsible for building a world wide sales and marketing organization from scratch. During his tenure at Verplex and Cadence he built and grew the organization to over 50 people world wide while growing revenue and achieving 70% market share.His responsibilities included coordination of sales and marketing activities including overall responsibility for negotiating and managing global accounts such as Intel, Texas Instruments, Fujitsu, Toshiba, ST, Motorola, Freescale and Philips. Prior to joining Verplex Systems in 1999 Mr. Torsney held various Sales and Application Engineering for Mentor Graphics from 1992 to 1999. Prior to joining Mentor Graphics Mr. Torsney worked for TRW as a design engineer. Mr. Torsney received his degree from the University of San Diego.

Dr. Chen is a pioneer in the field of digital image coding and has received numerous image coding achievement awards. His accomplishments include the invention of several ground breaking algorithms, such as the Slant Transform for image coding, the fast computational algorithm and convolution theorem for the Discrete Cosine Transform, the Combined Symbol Matching for facsimile coding, and the Scene Adaptive Coding for video coding. Dr. Wen Chen is a Fellow of Cisco Systems, Inc. providing leadership in Video Technology.  Prior to joining Cisco, Dr. Chen was Board Director and Chief Technology Officer of Komodo Technology, Inc. (acquired by Cisco in 2000). Prior to joining Komodo, he was Founder, Chairman of the Board and President of V-Bits, Inc. (acquired by Cisco in 1999). Prior to founding V-Bits, he was Founder and Executive Vice President of Compression Labs, Inc. where he pioneered the development of video conferencing products. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and has numerous publications, patents and awards.
