PacketVideo Network Solutions and VisualOn partner to bring HD-Likequality video to mobile handsets

— VisualOn today announced that it has partnered with PacketVideo Network Solutions (pvNS), to bring HD-Like quality video to its mobile media delivery services for mobile customers.  3G subscribers using pvNS’ mobile media delivery solution are now able to view breaking news-on-demand, entertainment programs, music videos and more on their 3G-enabled mobile phones with audio and video quality levels superior to Apple’s video iPod.

Mobile Video on Demand consumers have been able to navigate through an offering of innovative content including blockbuster movies and trailers. Unfortunately, the viewing experience was limited by the technology on the client side or by traditional mobile multimedia players. By working together and integrating technology and service from pvNS’ video streaming platform with VisualOn’s Media Player Plus, the two companies have been able to achieve the quality standard set by Apple’s video iPod, with H.264 video and AAC audio at 30 fps on many of today’s Windows- and 3GPP-based handsets.
